More On: KA3 MVP Extreme
You didn't think ATI would be left out would you? ECS has announced the KA3 MVP Extreme motherboard which supports the new AMD AM2 processors but uses the Crossfire Xpress 3200 chipset. The earlier announcement was for the NVIDIA motherboard supporting the new CPU.  As with the other board, the KA3 supports multiple graphics cards utilizing the Crossfire technology instead of NVIDIA's SLI.

ECS Elitegroup Brings Performance Motherboard to the Next Level with the Releases of KA3 MVP Extreme Motherboard

-- The new ATI CrossFire Express 3200 chipset based motherboard combines the best of dual graphics support and solid engineering in one extreme package --

Fremont, CA (May 23, 2006) – Elitegroup Computer Systems, Inc. (ECS®), the world’s leading computer component and notebook manufacturer, today released the new RoHS-compliant KA3 MVP Extreme motherboard for the latest AMD® AM2 processors. The latest addition to the popular Extreme series of motherboards, the KA3 MVP Extreme takes full advantage of the ATI® CrossFire™ Xpress 3200 chipset to deliver unparalleled performance for stunning 3D graphics and ample headroom for overclocking.

The KA3 MVP Extreme supports AM2 versions of AMD Athlon™ FX, Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core, Athlon 64 and Sempron™ CPUs as well as AMD’s new AM2 Energy Efficient microprocessors. AMD’s new lineup of low power processors provides 35W and 65W versions of AM2 processors for increased energy savings. Unlike socket 939 and 754 motherboards, the KA3 MVP Extreme breaks through previous limits to support dual channel DDR2-533, 667 and 800 SDRAM memory, which adds to performance gains.

ECS Elitegroup’ proprietary Scalable Dual Graphic Engines (SDGE) architecture means the KA3 MVP Extreme can fully leverage ATI’s CrossFire technology. The ATI Crossfire Xpress 3200 architecture has optimized the number, configuration, and utilization of its PCI-Express lanes, allowing the full bandwidth to GPUs (8 GB/s) be realized. This architecture’s increased bandwidth and data flow has removed the bottleneck common to x16 solutions to this point. SDGE not only allows two graphics cards to work simultaneously at full-bandwidth to generate spectacular 3D graphics, it also enables support for simultaneous display on up to four devices and further improves support for single PCI Express based graphics cards.

For the overclocking enthusiasts, KA3 MVP Extreme is designed to deliver rock solid stability during even the most extreme overclocking quests. The Extreme BIOS supports overclocked CPU Front Side Bus (FSB) speed of 1333 MHz, overclocked DDR2 memory frequency of 1066 MHz and automatic PCI-E overclocking when ATI graphics cards are used. Other KA3 MVP Extreme features include Realtek ALC822 audio codec for 8-channel HD audio and a host of I/Os including 6 x SATAII ports, 8 x USB 2.0 ports, optional 1394 Firewire ports, Dual Gigabyte LAN (1 x Gb, 1 x 10/100), RAID support, and 2 x S/PDIF (Optical and Coaxial).

The KA3 MVP Extreme meets and exceeds AMD’s Live™ digital media platform requirements. AMD Live is a growing collaboration of music and cinema artists and producers using AMD solutions to create and distribute content. Supported by AMD Live, KA3 MVP provides the complete multimedia power to create and bring this digital media content to all rooms of a home.

The new KA1 MVP Extreme motherboard is available through ECS’ worldwide authorized distributors and resellers. For more information on the motherboard, please visit http://www.ecsusa.com.  For where to buy information, email MBSales@ecsusa.com.
