First Impressions of GRAW and Burnout Revenge

Being the sucker that I am I picked up both Burnout Revenge and Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter after work today.  Here are a few impressions of each.

Burnout Revenge:  I only spent about 30 minutes or so with the game but it's solid and a lot of fun to play.  The graphics are really nice and there are a lot of cool new effects in the game (like the wearing down of your paint).  That said the game plays almost exactly like the Xbox version I rented a few months ago.  While I haven't had a chance to try the new online modes yet I would hazard to say that if you already have the current generation version of the game you might want to skip this as there's really not a lot of new content in the game.

Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter: I spent about an hour and a half on this game and it is pretty damn impressive.  Between the graphics and the game play this is what next generation game play is all about.  You do get to do a lot of cool things but it takes a bit of patience to use all of the tools at your disposal.  I learned pretty quickly that you need to use the drone to scout ahead for bad guys.  There are some other cool little things you get to do at the end of the first mission but I don't want to spoil the game for anyone.  John and I hooked up and tried one of the co-op missions.  It took us a bit of time to get our bearings but this game has some serious multiplayer potential.  We're going to try and get a bigger group together this weekend and we'll hopefully have a little better luck. For the record John got capped before I did as he rushed around a corner while I moved the scout drone into place.  I died trying to rescue John which is something that will probably become a re-occuring theme in the game.
