DC Universe Online is launching an Animation Contest for those interested in testing their animation skills in the video game industry.

You can submit an entry to be a part of the video trailer animations, or enter to be part of the character gesture animations. The reps at DCUO will pick 60 submissions for the game trailer for runners-up, and 40 for the emote animation contest.

Of course, there are a myriad of prizes available from cash monies to a copy of the game itself when it ships. Even voting will put you in the running for winning a prize. You can register on Facebook, and read on for the full details of the contest.
Today marks the launch of the DC Universe™ Online/Mass Animation - Animation Contest where budding animators and fans alike are given the unique opportunity to animate shots in a cinematic trailer or choose to try their hand at animating character gestures for in-game emotes for the upcoming video game DC Universe Online. The winning entries will receive cash and prizes in addition to being included in the video credits of the trailer or game credits. This contest offers the chance for participants to work with the DCUO development team and up and coming talent worldwide in collaboration to bring true "mass animation" to life.

There will be approximately 60 submissions chosen as runners-up for the game trailer and each will each get $500.00 and a copy of DCUO when it ships. The approximately 40 runners-up of the Emote animation entries will win $150, the opportunity for inclusion of their submission in the DCUO Game, and the opportunity to receive game credit and a copy of the Game when it ships.

Finally those who choose not to submit, but wish to vote are also eligible for great prizes! A top weekly voter prize will be drawn from each week's voter database for both the Game Trailer and Game Character Animation and these winners will also be awarded prizes.
