Play Call of Duty on the 360 and PS3 starting ths week

More On: Call of Duty
I remember when Call of Duty first came out on the PC and it was good. Infinity Ward actually created something special and did so for three more games. Their fourth effort falls a little short in terms of quality from the other three though but there's one great thing about Modern Warfare 2 if you got one of the special editions. You get to play the classic game for free on the console.

The original Call of Duty is coming to the PS3 and 360 this week for a price of 1200 MS points or $14.99 on the PS3 on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.  Aspyr did the porting of the game and if you never played the game before, it's a great pickup. I still have the original CD for the PC and I might just have to pop it back in to play some again.  This is the first time the original is being made available on a console so I'm interested to see if there are any improvements made over the original.
CALL OF DUTY®: CLASSIC AVAILABLE THIS WEEK ON XBOX LIVE® AND THE PLAYSTATION®NETWORK

Santa Monica, CA – November 30, 2009 – Beginning this week the original title in the Call of Duty® franchise that started it all, Call of Duty: Classic, will be available as an individual purchase on the Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network on Wednesday for 1200 Microsoft Points and on the PlayStation®Network on Thursday for $14.99, allowing fans to experience the original installment on next-generation consoles for the first time.

Created by Infinity Ward in 2003, the original Call of Duty launched the hit franchise with more than 80 Game of the Year awards and 50 Editors’ Choice honors. Ported to Xbox LIVE and the PlayStation Network by Aspyr, Call of Duty: Classic is rated “T” (Teen) by the ESRB for Blood & Violence, and is currently available as downloadable content in the Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare 2® Collector’s Editions published by Activision Publishing, Inc.
