Midway announces Mortal Kombat: Armageddon and Mortal Komat Unchained.

Midway sends word that they are officially working on Mortal Kombat: Armageddon for the Xbox and Playstation 2.  The game will be the last MK on current generation hardware and will ship in the fall.  The game will include every single character from the Mortal Komat series as well as allowing you to create your own fighters with the Create-A-Fighter mode as well as a Create-A-Fatality mode (I can hear Joe Lieberman grinding his teeth already).

Along with Armageddon, Midway announced Mortal Kombat:Unchained for the PSP.  The fame will feature the usual host of characters as well as head to head combat over the units built in Wi-Fi connection and six new fighters.  This game will also be released in the fall.
