How much less power does the slim PlayStation 3 use? CNET did some testing and came up with half. From standby, to idling, game playing, even Youtube, the new machine consumes half the power of the original beast which is pretty good news for those that want to save a little extra dough in the energy bill.
How much, of course, depends on how much you do use the machine per week but 20 a week hour gamers will save enough to buy about three McDonald's combo meals a year. Not that much, but every little bit counts and probably not enough for me to switch the thing off from a standby mode every time I am done with the machine.
