Yeah, really. Komodo is releasing a plastic shotgun for the tiny white box, complete with fully functional slide. Dubbed the Buckshot, this peripheral sounds something like Nyko's pass-through gun grips in that it functions electronically like a Nunchuk, not Nintendo's weak-sauce Zapper and its clicky, purely mechanical cheap plastic switches. Still, without any specs or pictures of the thing I'm having trouble visualizing how it works. It comes in only red and black, so at least it isn't another chunk of white plastic you'll be adding to your living room.
See, here's the dilemma. This sounds like a cool addon, but with a motto like "This Ain't for Sissies, Folks!" you have to wonder why they're putting it out for the Wii, admittedly the sissiest console on the market. This digs into the Wii's biggest catch 22 as well--its controller is perfect for FPS games but its lily-white image is wrong and as a result its largely casual audience isn't interested. I'll hold out for some more info on this one, but I'm eager to try the Buckshot with something like The Conduit or the recently announded CoD4 on Wii.
