Sonic collects Genesis games?

More On: Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection
Apparently Sega's spiny blue mascot has a collection of old Genesis cartridges, because Sega is compiling them into Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection.  The compilation includes the first three Sonic games, Ecco, Space Harrier and Streets of Rage, and will output these classics in 720p.  This sounds like a solid collection but why is it Sonic's?  They could've just called it Ultimate Genesis Collection.  Regardless, I wonder how it will stack up to the Sonic Mega Collection released on the GCN and PS2--that thing was extensive.
