Abadon shows off Freaky Creature customization
I remember when X-Men action figures started coming with little CDs, as part of the late 90's "interactive" craze.  Next Lego did it with their Bionicles kits.  These cheap little mini discs usually had some lame desktop wallpapers, a link to a website or if you were lucky, some neat malware that would junk up your parents' PC and pester them with ads for more toys.
Gone are those simple times, though.  Abandon Interactive Entertainment is taking that idea to a whole new level with Freaky Creatures.  This game is an MMO that comes on flash drives, pakaged with action figures and collectible cards.  It launches early next year, using a combination of toys, collectible cards and gaming to suck untold amounts of parents' cash take customizable action figures to the next level.  I admit, it's a pretty cool idea and marketing genius too; as a kid I always wanted to have my toys play around in my computer, and vice-versa.  I guess I was just born too late.

CREATURE CUSTOMIZATION IN FREAKY CREATURES
New Screenshots Show Robust Creature Creation in Upcoming MMO Game
MALIBU, Calif. - October 13, 2008 - Abandon Interactive Entertainment today released new screenshots showing the robust creature customization of its upcoming online creature building and battling game, Freaky Creatures. Hitting shelves in early 2009, Freaky Creatures combines the best of collectible action figures, trading card games, MMOs and virtual worlds.  The new screenshots demonstrate players' ability to customize their creature with a variety of parts and powers, allowing for more than three billion visual combinations.
    - The first batch of screenshots show, step-by-step, how a player chooses a variety of parts for their creature and customizes them with horns, wings and weapons.  During the selection process, players can see how certain parts carry different levels of defense, health and damage.

    - The remaining screenshots show how to equip a creature with various powers, such as a fire circle, a flaming back, or a force field.  These powers work strategically together while in battle, allowing for increased defense or destruction power.
