UFC Undisputed for your (oversized) pocket

More On: UFC Undisputed 2010
UFC Undisputed 2010 has finally reached the "i" family of games (pod, phone, pad, ect.) and now has a presence on facebook as well. It's kind of late in the year for this sort of treatment for an ought ten game, but it is a good sign of things to come for the burgeoning game franchise. Who knows? By this time next year there might be old school LCD handheld games of UFC Undisputed 2011.

Here's a list of features for the "i" version UFC 2010 (lifted from Press release):
  • The simplified virtual Octagon® with unique and intelligent gameplay,
  • 25 fighters from all five UFC official weight classes
  • a variety of competitive modes, extensive connectivity with social networking options
  • access to the latest happenings in the UFC
You can try out the facebook app for yourself if you have an account. Personally I found it to be a somewhat standard time waster with a very shiny skin and annoying sounds effects. Then again, the only facebook game I've ever gotten into was D&D tiny adventures, to give you an idea of my preferred fantasy experience.

In partnership with the UFC, we are excited to launch the beta period of our official Facebook game: UFC Undisputed Fight Nation, the only Ultimate Fighting Championship game on Facebook!

You will train with UFC President Dana White to master moves and disciplines, compete in the virtual Octagon, brag to your Facebook friends after every victory and fight your way to becoming a Pro Fighter. During the beta period, our fight card will be open to the first 3,000 participants each day on a first come, first-serve basis. However, once you are part of a daily fight card, you will have unlimited access to play any time you want.

The UFC Undisputed Fight Nation beta also features active leaderboards and an in-game purchase system. During the beta period, all purchases, ranking and leveling up will carry through to when the game goes commercially live in early 2011. By participating in the beta period, you will not lose any of your in-game progress. You will, however, gain a significant advantage by participating early. All fighters that attain Pro Fighter status during the beta period will be the first to have a shot at our Pro Fights in early 2011, where community fame and prizes will be at stake.

If you haven’t already, be sure to check out UFC Undisputed Fight Nation and help us make the game one of the hottest available on Facebook today.  If you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave them on our message boards or send them to me directly.  As we are in the beta period, our product development team will be updating the game based on insight and recommendations up to and beyond our commercial launch in early 2011.
