THQ*ICE wants your soul in exchange for in-game items

I’d like to start this news announcement with a big /SIGH. THQ*ICE announced an event in conjunction with Dragonica Online that basically bribes you to market for them.

I did the whole MMO thing or, rather, am still weaning myself off of it. Scavenging for items always becomes a huge and prominent ordeal for your typical run-of-the-mill MMORPG. I guess THQ*ICE – like many of the MMO developers out there – realized our weakness for items and set forth plans to reap the benefits of teasing us all with them.

Until January 11th, you can gain access to a web address to give out to your friends so that they can register themselves for a THQ*ICE Passport for free. In exchange, you, the advertiser hired for in-game items, can have a chance to receive three Essences of Friendship and one permanent Magic Academy Uniform Package. The prizes you win depend on how many people you have invited, and how many of them have reached a certain level in the game. Your friends who you have invited will also get prices once they hit level 8.

As a WoW player I had my days of: “Zebra mount?! LET’S GET YOU SIGNED UP, FRIEND.” Really, it’s no skin off your back – but I can’t help thinking I’ve sold my soul in exchange for a mount I never needed.

WHO: THQ*ICE LLC



WHAT: Exploring new lands and fighting fearsome foes is more fun (and a whole lot easier) when you have a buddy backing you up. THQ*ICE’s With a Little Help from My Friends event lets players invite friends to join them in Dragonica Online and be rewarded for it!



After logging into their THQ*ICE Passport (http://www.thqice.com) players will see their unique website address to give to their friends to register for their own free THQ*ICE Passport. Inviters can copy and paste their special URL in emails and forums or click the Facebook or Twitter links to post their link automatically and invite friends to join them in Dragonica Online.



Prizes

Inviters can win three [Essence of Friendship] items and a permanent [Magic Academy Uniform Package] if one of the following is achieved:

· They have five or more invited friends who join and reach at least level 5;

· They have up to three invited friends who join and reach at least level 10;

· They have one invited friend who joins and reaches at least level 20.



Invited friends that reach level 8 or above will receive eight [Party Warp Card] and five [Essence of Friendship] items.
