Rumor of the week

There's an article up on 1up that covers an interesting happening on the EA Sports website. For a while on Friday the site was listing NHL 2006 as a EA exclusive license (much like the NFL). That was quickly taken down but there's some speculation that an announcement is forthcoming (probably once the NHL and NHLPA pull their heads out of their asses and get a new collective bargaining agreement signed). This would really suck as NHL2K series has really outclassed the product that EA has put out for the last few years. It's also interesting given that NHL2K6 is supposed to be one of the launch window titles for the Xbox 360 (it was even part of their game trailer) so I'm guessing we'll have at least one more year of multiple titles.
