Rockstar taking aim at GTA Online cheaters

If you have been playing GTA Online lately, you may have heard stories of people with ridiculous amounts of cash running around the game. These generous indivduals usually deposit millions of dollars in cash into unsuspecting players accounts so they have the money as well. This has ruined the game for a lot of people as they would much rather work for their cash instead of just becoming the worlds newest billionaire on the spot. Rockstar is aiming to take care of this situation.

On their most recent Rockstar Newswire blog post, Rockstar explains that they have removed the extra funds from some accounts and that innocent players who received the money will not be punished in any way.

"Anyone who innocently received GTA$ as a result of these exploits but did not engage in cheating to acquire it will not face any further action - the funds will just be removed, and you'll be able to keep any items you currently own."

If you are someone that is exploiting / hacking the game, you are now on notice. Rockstar will start issuing penalties, suspensions and permanent bans from GTA Online for anyone who continues this behavior.

If you do encounter others participating in this behavior, make sure you report them to Rockstar so they can be dealt with accordingly.
