There have been reports of people having problems with version 3.0 of
PlayStation 3's firmware update. Reports of crashing and system instability were cited after the big update released during GamesCom. I never saw any of it but then again, I rarely played the PlayStation 3 since September 1st.
So today,
version 3.01 has been released to address a few of these issues. It's an optional update to improve stability during use of some software but really, who wouldn't want to update to it if it addresses stability. Sounds like a no brainer to me. We'll have to keep an eye out to see if this really does fix some of the issues and not introduce new ones as well.
