PC gamers don't catch a lot of breaks, but at least they can get their Painkiller early. Painkiller Hell & Damnation is out on Steam tomorrow, while 360 and PS3 owners have to wait until January 22nd. As icing on the cake, here's the cinematic trailer for the game. Hell and Damnation serves as an HD remake of the original Painkiller, which begs the question: will Daniel Garner EVER get out of purgatory and see his wife again? He's been killing these hellspawn for eight years going, and now he has to re-do the first game all over again. Just saying, he's probably not the kind of guy you want to make angry.

VIENNA, AUSTRIA (Oct. 30th 2012) – Nordic Games will unleash Painkiller Hell & Damnation for Windows PC on October 31, and to help you prepare for the onslaught of demons and fiends, take a look at the cinematic intro trailer here (the track “Painkiller” by Siri Svegler is not part of the original soundtrack):

The depths of hell can be experienced in single-player mode, co-operative mode or multiplayer mode for full-on explosive FPS gameplay. Players assume the role of Daniel Garner, a desperate man stuck in purgatory who must regain contact with his estranged wife Catherine. Unfortunately for him, creatures born of pure evil will not make that journey easy.

Developed by Polish studio The Farm 51 and powered by Unreal Engine 3, Painkiller Hell & Damnation recreates the sensations and hardcore gameplay of the original Painkiller. Released in 2004, Painkiller won high praise and many accolades and fans for its fast and unique gameplay. Keeping true to the old-school FPS ideology, lightning-fast movement enables skilful players to get into the heart of the fast-paced gameplay, topped off with stunning enormo-boss fights requiring sneaky tactics.

Painkiller Hell & Damnation will be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on the 22nd January 2012.
