The smoke from the fireworks is finally settling and it is time to settle down and crack open a new batch of games. Konami is taking things overboard in the compilation department and I don’t think that anyone is going to complain. The Legacy Collection is an insane package that fans and non-fans alike are going to eat up.

Some specific titles to look out for this week:
  • NCAA Football 2014: Although we’re still in the midst of the summer, football fans are already gearing up for kickoff in the fall. One of the sure-fire signs that football season is coming is the release of NCAA Football, which hits only the Xbox 360 and PS3 this year. The fans elected Michigan QB Denard Robinson from Michigan to grace the cover despite his likeness not being officially included in the game. The game gives you the ability to run your favorite collegiate football program from all angles, including recruiting and game management. This year’s edition incorporates some RPG-like elements in the form of experience that your program will earn by completing feats such as winning bowl games and scoring indifferent situations; the more experience that you earn, the more things you are able to do as a coach. It is an interesting evolution of the series to say the least and something that should hold sports fans over until the real thing kicks off in a few, short months.
  • Metal Gear Solid- The Legacy Collection: You know those people who take an idea, that seems like a good one, and just goes to the extreme with it? That is what Konamy is doing this week with the idea of HD compilation packages. This is an absolutely insane amount of content bundled together in a single package. This contains Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, MGS, MGS VR Missions, MGS2, MGS3, MGS4, and MGS: Peace Walker in addition to a variety of graphic novels and videos. We’re talking 8 games plus bonus content, in a single package! This is something every Solid Snake fan must own and the perfect opportunity for anyone who hasn’t yet experienced the world of Metal Gear to get started.

The week’s lineup consists of the following: Total Recoil for Playstation Vita
