In a tradition that goes back many years, a Microsoft exec will deliver the preshow keynote to the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show.  Since Bill Gates retired in one of the best keynotes I have ever seen in person, Steve Ballmer has been delivering them for Microsoft the last few years.  Once again, he will hit the stage on Monday, January 9th at 6:30 p.m. PST to deliver his keynote.  Why this may be important for gamers is that Microsoft has used CES as the delivery vehicle for some of its more notable gaming announcements.  With Kinect dominating E3, it may be the place and time to talk about the next version of the Xbox come January 2012.  Then again, maybe we get another clunker of an announcement that disappears quickly into the Vegas night.
