A follow up to The Verge
was posted today on
Windows 8 using currency designation rather than points. A spokesperson confirmed that the Xbox 360 will still use Microsoft Points for now and that they have no future plans to change this.
The Verge still thinks that they are going to phase out the Points in favor of displaying the local currency. It does seem a little confusing though for those that have a Windows 8 machine and a 360 to see and purchase items in two different flavors, but we'll see if that lasts.
