Layoffs hit studio of EA cash cows Madden, Tiger Woods

According to Etan Horowitz of the Orlando Sentinel, EA Tiburon (studio behind Madden and Tiger Woods series) laid off an undisclosed amount of employees today. The layoffs were part of the broader scope announced by parent company Electronic Arts last December. This is a bit of a surprise, as Madden and Tiger Woods are two of the EA stalwarts. It will be interesting to see if the 2009 version of these games shows any noticeable degradation form the layoffs when they get released later in the year.
