Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance gets a demo

For those like me who have been almost frothing at the mouth for Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance on the 3DS, now we can get a taste of the game as Square Enix has announced that a demo for the game is now available on the 3DS eShop Channel.  The demo takes place in Traverse Town where Sora meets Neku from The World Ends With You and allows players to check out new gameplay features such as Flowmotion and Reality Shift.  Rest assured I plan to download the demo tomorrow evening and check it out, and I'll report back here with my opinion.


LOS ANGELES (June 22, 2012) – Square Enix, Inc., the publishers of SQUARE ENIX® interactive entertainment products in the Americas, today announced that the demo forKINGDOM HEARTS 3D [Dream Drop Distance] is now available through the Nintendo eShop.


The KINGDOM HEARTS 3D [Dream Drop Distance] demo takes place in Traverse Town, where Sora meets Neku from the popular DS title THE WORLD ENDS WITH YOU®. Players will also encounter creatures new to the series called Dream Eaters, who are split into two categories: Spirits (allies) and Nightmares (enemies). Sora is able to recruit Spirits like Meow Wow and Tama Sheep as allies and link with them to perform powerful combo attacks to defeat enemy Dream Eaters and a colossal Nightmare beast. The demo also gives players the opportunity to try new gameplay features like “Flowmotion” and “Reality Shift.”

In preparation for an impending threat, Sora and Riku enter the Sleeping Worlds to complete the Mark of Mastery exam. They will encounter new enemies and make new friends in worlds they have never set foot in, and if successful in their quest, they will become true Keyblade Masters.

KINGDOM HEARTS 3D [Dream Drop Distance] is available now for preorder at $59.99 for the “Mark of Mastery” Collector’s Edition and $39.99 for the standard edition.
