Kalypso announces a new 4X: Legends of Pegasus

More On: Legends of Pegasus
Ah, the 4X space sim. A relic of the 90s that promised just how expansive and immersive a sci-fi game could be. That was before the Dark Times, before the iPad apps and cake-matching games and diners and senseless violence between birds and pigs. At least Kalypso still believes in that potential. Next year they'll release Legends of Pegasus, a brand new, PC-exclusive 4X space sim where you control the last remnants of humanity, fighting for survival in the cold reaches of the galaxy.

Kalypso did a bang-up job porting Dark Star One to the 360 (at least I thought so) and I'm eager to see what developer Novacore Studios is capable of when making their own 4X from scratch. Seriously people, a new space sim. Being developed in 2011. That's like someone making a sequel to Grim Fandango. No that I think of it...what's Telltale up to these days?
