Humble Indie Bundle results and extension

by: Chad -
More On: Gish Penumbra: Overture
The Humble Indie Bundle has been available for over a week now.  Gamers can pay what they want for five indie games: World of Goo, Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru HD, Penumbra Overture.  It was supposed to only be on sale for a week, but it has now been extended for at least another three days.  Why?  For two reasons:
  1. It's been selling like hotcakes!  At the time of this posting, over 120,000 people have contributed a total of more than $1.1 million dollars.  That's over $9.15 per person with Linux users being the most generous.

  2. Four of the five games are going open source.  Lugaru HD has already released its source code and Aquaria, Gish, and Penumbra Overture are soon to follow.  Find out more about what that means here.
This is amazing.  Last night I was going to post a lengthy lament about Ubisoft's current DRM scheme but decided against it.  If you're interested, RPS had a nice posting about this yesterday.   It deals like the Humble Indie Bundle that help keep me focused on the positive of PC gaming.
