Hold your laughter til the end... Avatar producer to appear at First 3D gaming summit

by: Ben Berry -
More On: James Cameron's Avatar: The Game
Ok, so Avatar the movie did serious business, and as purely a work of visual presentation, it hit homeruns. Sadly, movies are not just graphics, and while sales may be the name of the game, using a weak version of a warmed over plot will only win your ex-wife an Academy Award.

The same can be said for games, so when Jon Landau provides the keynote interview at the first ever 3D gaming summit, I hope he sticks to the display aspects of his movie and associated games, without much focus on the plot. Or maybe he can tach them the what they learned about the value of including a plot in your stories.

It is exciting though that there will be a 3D gaming summit, and it makes me giddy with the prospect that TRON could be an experience like the 80's movie sooner rather than later. Except without all the dying for realsies. I just hope Paul Anderson doesn't take any advice from Landau regarding Buck Rogers, because I don't want that screwed up.
