Heroes of Might and Magic V goes gold

Ubisoft sends word that Heroes of Might and Magic V has now gone gold and will be released to stores on May 23rd.  The game has been in the news lately for not only its gameplay and graphics but because Ubisoft made the late decision to remove the Starforce copy protection system from the game.  More information and pretty screenshots can be found at the game's official website.

SAN FRANCISCO - April 20, 2006 – Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, today announces that Heroes of Might and Magic® V has gone gold and is scheduled for release in North America on May 23, 2006. 

Developed by a seasoned team at Nival Interactive (Blitzkrieg, Silent Storm, Etherlords), Heroes of Might and Magic V® will be available in both a standard and a limited edition and will ship with a rating of “T” (Teen).
