Gotta Catch 'Em All? Victini Awaits Early Pokemon Black & White Purchasers

With the release of Pokemon Black and Pokemon White about a month away, anticipation for these latest versions of Nintendo's popular pocket monsters is reaching fever pitch. Nintendo has raised the stakes for consumers who have been on the fence about buying the game (or games) early with the announcement of Victini.

Victini is termed as the Victory Pokemon, and apparently with good reason. Victini is a hybrid Pokemon with both Psychic and Fire abilities, which is a first for any of the creatures in the long-running series. Victini's Victory Star ability will increase the Accuracy stat for all Pokemon in battle, and that will likely prove to be a big asset for budding Pokemon trainers. In addition, Pokemon lore suggests that Victini is a source of unlimited energy; the press release is vague about how this will help players, but this only adds to the anticipation. 

Consumers who buy Pokemon Black and/or Pokemon White between March 6th and April 10th will get access to a limited Liberty Pass, which will be available via the NIntendo Wi-Fi Connection service. Once activated, Victini will be fair game to be caught and trained within the game. 

Pokemon Black and Pokemon White will be released into the wild on Sunday, March 6th. In the meantime, the full press release is after the jump.
