Dark Vale Games has announced that their popular PC multiplayer game Forge has been updated to v1.04 and also reveals some new upcoming features.

First, the update improves the player experience and streamlines the process for finding and joining matches and friends.  You can also learn and improve your skills in the Training Zone versus AI opponents.  The Ability Focus System has also been updated with thirty new abilities.

If that wasn't enough, Dark Vale Games has also given a small glimpse at some of the new features coming to Forge that will begin appearing with the v1.05 and v1.06 updates, which are currently planned to be released in March and April.  First off are two new classes: the Ravager (a powerful and mobile melee character) and the Tinker (who can use gadgets to control combat, other players, and the surrounding area).  A new armor system will allow players to customize their characters piece by piece, and new Divine armor sets will be available for high level players.  there will also be two new multiplayer maps: the Den of Fenric and Arenas.  With all of that plus sixty new class abilities, UI improvements, and a completely redone tutorial, Forge fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming months.

ABOUT FORGE
In FORGE, a malicious being named The Devourer has swallowed the great pantheon of gods.  Seeking escape, the trapped gods turn great warriors into zealous adherents and place them on a faceless world called FORGE, where every champion’s death feeds the immortals power.

FORGE was independently developed using the industry-standard Unreal Engine 3 from Epic Games and bridges the gap between the skill-based action of shooters and the strategic player-vs-player competition of massively multiplayer online games.   Players use reflexes and aim to annihilate opponents while also leveraging the strategy of their MMO-style abilities to decide how to attack and defend in different scenarios.

Choosing one of five unique warrior classes, the player must battle head-to-head against others in a bid to free their god from the clutches of The Devourer.  Each class is designed with traditional RPG tropes in mind, such as stealth and tank, but all have been reimagined and updated to further balance their abilities and create more complementary skills between classes.  To be most effective, each class must use their skills and abilities together to create a unified fighting force capable of overlapping offensive and defensive abilities.

FORGE is rated T for Teen, for violence and blood, by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).  Please visit the ESRB website at www.esrb.org for more information about ratings.
