EVE Online's CCP wins European Digital Media Industry award

More On: EVE Online
CCP LogoAs opposed to Age of Conan's nebulous claims that they're "growing" -- but not actually providing any hard stats for such alleged growth -- EVE Online's developer CCP Games has been recognized for its measurable, verifiable growth by Media Momentum.  Media Momentum, with their finger on the pulse of Europe's fastest growing digital media companies, slid their Vision & Future growth potential award to the Icelandic company, citing CCP's player subscription numbers, sales increases, and recruiting of about 60 new employees this year as to what solidified the judges' final decision.  The judges' comments:
This year's judges were incredibly impressed with what CCP has managed to achieve so far (300,000+ active subscribers) and awarded the company with the Vision & Future growth potential award.  The judges feel that CCP has a "tremendous opportunity" to capture future growth if it continues to innovate and be a pioneer in the MMO gaming sector.  According to Screen Digest, CCP's Eve Online is the fourth largest subscription-based MMO by revenues in the Western Market.  The companies revenues in 2008 grew 25% to $46.5m.  The current level of growth has all been achieved with just one round of external financing.  CCP was founded in 1997.
Regarding CCP Games' growth, the Reykjavik-based company was ultimately ranked 14th on the short list of Europe's Fastest Growing Larger Digital Media Companies.  (Media Momentum's definition of "larger" being companies with a baseline revenue of 10 million Euros and up -- about $13.8 million U.S.)

Numbers, numbers, numbers, yadda, yadda.  Congratulations, CCP.  Can't think of any companies more deserving of the Vision & Future growth potential award than you guys.  Well.  Except for the 13 other companies that topped you.  Zing!
