Eurogamer is
reporting that EA has renewed their trademark on the
System Shock
name. This is interesting because only yesterday it was announced
that Take Two interactive had purchased Irrational Games the creators
of the original series (many consider their upcoming game
Bioshock to
be a spiritual sequel to the series). Is this just a case of EA
taking preventative action for an expiring IP or do they have something
planned for it? I'm hoping they are just squatting on some domain
because it would be kind of hard to swallow a sequel that more than
likely wouldn't have anyone working on it from the original game.
