Gamasutra has an interesting article that speculates
that board games are the next big frontier in the video game world (i.e. Guitar Hero 2.0). It makes a lot of sense as a lot of people are already familiar with the rules of many of these games and the video game versions can allow you to do things that you can't with the board gamer versions like download new content and play against people across the world. They single out Scene It!
as one of their test cases but I think the relative success of Catan
are other good examples.
