Taito's classic shooter RayStorm is being (or has been, actually) brought into the HD generation. Originally released in Japanese arcades back in 1996, the original RayStorm was ported to both the original PlayStation and the Sega Saturn in both Japan and the United States. The game has received a huge makeoever in the form of RayStorm HD
for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 thanks to Square Enix.
RayStorm HD was originally released in Japan last fall but has since been rated by the North American ESRB. The ESRB rating of "Everyone 10+" gives light to an American version of the game that hadn't received much attention or coverage previously. Hopefully the title will be hitting both platforms later this year. In the mean time, we can get a good look at the HD visuals of the new version thanks to Microsoft's recent Shooter Fiesta in Japan.
