It looks like you'll be able to play Sid Meier's Civilization V for free on Steam until Sunday, May 27th, 2012 at 1 pm PDT. This is deifnately a real "try it before you buy it" opportunity. This is all to celebrate the latest expansion Sid Meier’s Civilization V: Gods & Kings. Preorders begin May 28th. On top of this, this weekend the entire Civilization V series will be 75%. A lot of my buddies swear by the latest Civilization game and if you're curious, you have the free trial this weekend plus Tyler's review. Its a good time as any to get into the series and heck, you might just like it.

Sid Meier’s Civilization V: Gods & Kings can be pre-ordered starting at 1:00 p.m. PDT on Monday, May 28, 2012 and players who choose to take advantage of the free-to-play weekend can continue their quest for world domination and keep their progress intact by purchasing Civ V before Monday, May 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. PDT.
