If you know you're going to buy Civilization 4 no matter what then you may be interested in what 2K Games has for those who pre-order the game. The Pre-order Edition will contain a special package, CD soundtrack, keyboard template, tech tree map, and a cool spiral bound version of the manual (which means no propping open the manual with another book so you can read while you play). The extra goodies cost the same amount as the regular version except that you have to park your money with your favorite game retailer a little earlier than necessary.
