Atlus dev wants another Trauma Center, but focusing on MegaTen right now

Siliconera recently sat down for an interview with Masayuki Doi, character designer on Shin Megami Tensei IV. The whole interview is a good read for fans of the MegaTen series, but the final question caught my attention:

[Siliconera:] "You know there is one series you worked on that I’m always excited to hear about, Trauma Center, but we haven’t heard anything about it since Trauma Team. Will we see a new Trauma ever again?"

[Masayuki Doi:] "Wonderful! Thank you! I’m passionate about the Trauma Center series too and I want to develop the next game, but right now my focus is on the Shin Megami Tensei series."

It's good to know the folks at Atlus are still excited to do another Trauma Center game, as Trauma Team was brilliant and there are still so many things to do with the series. To be honest I was hoping to see a new Trauma game at E3, particularly one for Wii U--the GamePad touch screen has a ton of potential in it for surgery. Sadly it looks like we'll have to wait a while longer for a new entry in the series, but it makes me optimistic that one of Atlus's head artists definitely wants to make another Trauma game.
