Atari CEO resigns

More On:
Atari CEO David Pierce has resigned his position as the CEO of Atari.  The move comes as Atari has finally completed their plan of exiting the game development business to focus on game publishing and distribution.

From a rumors and speculation point of view it's an interesting move and may mean that Atari is being prepped for sale.  From previous experience when a CEO retires and doesn't immediately take a new job there is a chance that the company is removing the leadership of the company as preparation for selling the company.  At this point I'm not sure who would be a good suitor for the company but given the companies massive losses as of late I can't imagine that people would be lining up to buy the company.
