Split/Second survival mode trailer

More On: Split/Second
I think we’ve all gotten the idea that Split/Second, the action racing game by Black Rock Studio, is indeed fairly action packed. If you’ve played the demo on Xbox Live as I have, you’ll also have probably gotten a knack for the single player races even in its miniscule form. What I’m more interested in now, however, is what the other gameplay modes will be like. It’s to my experience that racing games, particularly ones with as much competitive drive as this one seems to entail, are best served on a multiplayer plate.

Today’s bits of information released by Disney Interactive Studios covers the survival gameplay mode. It’s a basic race against the clock, with the added obstacle of passing a rig to gain points all while avoiding the explosive barrels being dropped behind it. You can play this in single player, split screen, or online multiplayer.

Today Disney Interactive Studios has released its Survival Vignette for Split/Second, the action racing game from Black Rock Studio. Set within the world of a fictional reality TV show, Split/Second players don't just try to race to the finish line - they trigger explosive events that alter the track to take out opponents or create short cuts.

Split/Second is rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older and will be available in North America on May 18th, 2010 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC. Winner of the prestigious Game Critics Award as Best Racing Game of E3, Split/Second has a SRP of $59.99 for Xbox 360 and PS3 and $49.99 for Windows PC.
