New Splatterhouse screens certainly not lacking in splatter

I'm always up for a good old fashioned gore-fest (if you don't have Mad World, I think you should go buy it) and Splatterhouse is shaping up to be everything I want in such a game. If you don't believe me, check out these new screenshots--after nearly drowning in blood during the giant worm level in Gears 2 I didn't think any game could get bloodier, but I wager Marcux Fenix might have some insecurity issues after Splatterhouse ships.

There are also some new details on the game's soundtrack and the artists providing the metal, so check that out after the break.

New screenshots for Splatterhouse are now available for download from our press ftp site. The screens show a variety of gameplay including Berserker Mode, side-scrolling segments, and various acts of unfiltered primal aggression you’ll find in the game.

Additionally, we have details on the full soundtrack for Splatterhouse. Boasting tracks from many of the top names in metal, the Splatterhouse soundtrack fits perfectly with the game’s brutal gameplay and over-the-top gore. The full track list follows:

· The Accused – “Pounding Nails”

· ASG – “Dream Song”

· Cavalera Conspiracy – “Must Kill”

· 5 Finger Death Punch – “Dying Breed”

· Goatwhore – “Apocalyptic Havok”

· The Haunted – “Hollow Ground”

· High On Fire - “Fire, Flood & Plague”

· Invisible Enemies – “Dead Eyes”

· Lamb of God – “Walk With Me in Hell”

· Mastodon – “Blood and Thunder”

· Municipal Waste – “Rigorous Vengeance”

· Mutant Supremacy – “Morbid Dismemberment”

· Terrorizer – “Dead Shall Rise”

· WolfShirt – “Headlong Into Monsters”

Splatterhouse follows college student Rick Taylor as he embarks on a mission to rescue his girlfriend, Jennifer, who has disappeared after entering a mysterious run-down mansion inhabited by an elusive scientist, Dr. West.

Confronted by otherworldly horrific abominations under Dr. West’s control, Rick turns to a mystical sentient mask that promises to give him the power to reunite with his beloved Jennifer. Full of desperation, Rick dons the “Mayan Terror Mask” and is transformed into a raging juggernaut, unleashing unadulterated violence and destruction upon anything that stands in his way.

Splatterhouse will be available 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 system on November 23, 2010. Splatterhouse is rated “M” for Mature by the ESRB and will have an MSRP of $59.99.
