Crysis 2 gets DX 11, map editor tomorrow *UPDATED

Yesterday, the DirectX 11 patch for Crysis 2 came out for better visuals. Added were tessellation, better water rendering, HDR motion blur, and a few other improvements. Another big win is the inclusion of a higher resolution texture pack that should make the game on the PC look a lot better.

If you didn't know, the PC version had textures that were lesser quality than the original Crysis game, thus making it look, sometimes, worse than the first game. Some folks replaced the textures with those of the first game and saw some vast improvements.  I'm glad to see Crytek released a better texture pack to take advantage of the PC.

Tomorrow, you can grab a map editor from http://mycrysis.com so you can build some really cool maps yourself. And the map editor's going to be free, of course!

Time for me to go back in and see how much improvement the DX11 and texture pack gives to the look of Crysis 2.
