More On: VidRhythm
Harmonix has joined the recent trend of developers creating apps for iOS devices with its release of VidRhythm. By using the cameras and microphones of either an iPad 2, iPhone, or iPod Touch (4th generation), users can record their own video and sound to remix into 20 songs included with the application. Videos can then be shared on YouTube or Facebook to show the world your ridiculous creations.

VidRhythm is priced at $1.99 and is available for download now on the iTunes App Store. I've attached a video created by the folks over at Penny Arcade using the application.

MEME MACHINE LETS YOU MAKE INSANELY FUN “VIDEO MUSIC” INSTANTLY!

Cambridge, Mass. – September 8th, 2011 – Harmonix today released their first fully in-house iOS app, VidRhythm, a unique entertainment application that allows you to remix your world and make instantly sharable “video music” starring you and your friends. The app is available now in the App Store for $1.99 for use with iPad 2, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPod touch (4th generation).

“We’re really excited to bring the fun of video music to the world. VidRhythm lets anyone capture themselves, their friends and their world to make fun videos without having to own expensive gear or to learn complicated editing software,” said Josh Randall, Project Director on VidRhythm. “We can’t wait to see what people make with it!”

VidRhythm uses the (front- or rear-facing) camera and microphone on your iOS device to put YOU into music videos. With 20 amazing tracks, including instantly recognizable songs like “Flight of the Bumblebee” and “Maple Leaf Rag”, VidRhythm injects your sounds and visuals into a variety of genres and styles and sets them against a variety of crazy backgrounds! Videos are sharable with one click to YouTube, Facebook or your device’s photo roll.
