CryEngine goes open source

Well here's some pretty big news for those who love working with CryEngine. The entire source code for it is going open source and you can grab it now on GitHub.

Not long ago, Crytek went with a pay what you want model to nab the engine and it's good to see them go forth and put this out as open source for people to tinker with. Who knows, maybe something you put in there will be merged into the master branch for everyone else to use.

CryEngine powers a bunch of today's games including Evolve, Ryse, BattleCry, and Mechwarrior Online. If you want a very powerful engine to make your own games on the cheap, this is a great choice to pick up.
