The Solus Project dev diary 2: welcome to Gliese-6143-C

More On: The Solus Project

I'm still not entirely sure how The Solus Project works, and that both excites and concerns me. Supposedly the game follows a linear plot structure, and is broken up into levels instead of being a sandbox like Rust, The Long Dark and Minecraft. That said it is still a survival game, pitting your lone astronaut against the harsh, alien elements of the uncharted planet Gliese-6143-C.

This latest dev diary introduces you to the planet and its various mechanics. Apparently the levels above ground are more open-ended, whereas the subterranean levels are more structured and linear. It looks like Grip Digital is trying to take a more intentional approach to survival, resource management and crafting, which let's be honest can become a tedious grind in other survival games.

I'm sure the dev team will get plenty of feedback when the game enters Steam Early Access and GOG Games in Development on February 18th.
