Looks like i'll be buying all my videogames through Amazon now because this is a pretty big deal. Amazon.com has announced that they will now be offering those who are Amazon Prime members 20% off when pre-ordering videogames and the offer will extend through 2 weeks after the game is released. This means that you will only pay $48 for new videogames that normally cost $60. The offer also extends to collectors editions as well. Just put a game in your cart and the discount will be applied when you check out.
If you already have pre-orders, and are a Prime member, then you will also get the deals when the game launches. No need to delete it and pre-order again.
This is an amazing deal and may start to cut into the sales of retail stores like Wal-Mart and Gamestop. My only fear with this is that said retail stores are going to try to retaliate against this. Not that they don't do this already, but I can easily see retailer DLC becoming more and more common. I can also see some collectors editions being exclusive to certain retailers as well forcing you to buy from them if you want it.
