More On: Operation: Supply Drop

Competitive eSports infrastructure provider UMG Gaming is teaming up with military video game charity Operation Supply Drop. Both are veteran-founded organizations, and now Operation Supply Drop is the official charity of UMG, gaining exclusive charity presence at all UMG events. This partnership will not only allow the charity to gain exposure at UMG sponsored LAN tournaments, but also improve Supply Drop's mission by providing tournaments and special events to veterans and US military service members alike.

I haven't served in the military but I have several good friends that do--in the Navy, Army and Marines--and we have a couple vets on the Gaming Nexus staff as well. We've had discussions about gaming and how it provides a much-needed relief from the rigors of service, so UMG and Supply Drop's partnership will be providing a vital service to our men and women in uniform.

Operation Supply Drop and UMG Gaming, both veteran-founded organizations, have personal experience with the peer bonding and the catharsis that video games can brings to our troops deployed to combat areas. After the overwhelming response to the partnership at UMG Nashville, Operation Supply Drop and UMG Gaming look forward to continuing working together and giving back to our troops.

??We thoroughly enjoyed the relationship we had with Operation Supply Drop during our Nashville event,?? said UMG CEO Chris Tuck. ??With our history as a company that extensively supports our military and veterans that have served our country, it was a perfect match for us to align ourselves with a charity that shares this vision.??

??After working alongside the UMG Team, I observed first-hand that they have raised the bar when it comes to defining and engaging in a partnership,?? said Glenn ??Commander?? Banton, Executive Director of Operation Supply Drop. ??Their team fully supports the Operation Supply Drop mission and proactively does everything possible to support us, including fostering an environment that encourages the individual eSports teams and players to step up and help our cause."

The partnership between UMG and Operation Supply Drop is a natural fit due to UMG's personal ties to the military, with co-owners Robert Terkla and Raymond Kusch having served in the United States military for several years before being honorably discharged and eventually becoming vital parts of the UMG team. UMG Gaming will be supporting Operation Supply Drop and their program initiatives throughout the new year, including but not limited to UMG's competitive eSports LAN events.
