New Dark Horizon screenshots released

The folks at Paradox have released a net set of screenshots for Dark Horizons ahead of its release next week. The sci-fi shooter (a rare find) has you defending the universe against the Mirk and while the plots a little on the sci-fi generic side the game does allow you to customize your ships quite a bit which impacts how you play the game.
As an old Wing Commander/Freespace guy it's nice to see one of these games hitting the market. John asked Volition about the possibility of a Freespace 3 game when he was at the Saints Row 2 event a while back and the game is certainly on the minds of the folks at Volition but they are looking for someone else to make the first move before committing the resources to develop the game. I don't know if Dark Horizon is that game or not but it would certainly be nice to see the genre return.
