The high point of any day: vomiting blood

by: Nathaniel -

This gameplay video from Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 shows off the Toymaker, whom you may remember from the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow DLC called Mirror of Fate.

Like a cross between Ben Franklin and the Penguin*, the Toymaker seems like a kindly old man - until he's possessed by some blood-borne evil.

The full video is a bit lengthy (9+ minutes) but it contains an entire boss encounter, so what better way to preview what you'll be getting yourself into should you decide to play Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2?

to learn more, follow the jump.  Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will be out on February 25th.

*I call dibs on the concept of Ben Franklin as a Batman villain.

CASTLEVANIA: LORDS OF SHADOW 2: RETURN OF THE TOYMAKER
KONAMI Shows Lavish Development Process of Sequel’s Arch Foe

The Toymaker is a mischievous adversary of mysterious origin first introduced in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate, and returns in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, when his macabre lair plays host to one of the game’s key confrontations. The new assets showcase the evolution of the character, from initial sketches to full implementation.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 acts as a conclusion to the Lords of Shadow story. The new game is set in a modern city tainted by Dracula’s influence and within Dracula’s castle itself. It sees a tortured Dracula charged with engaging Satan in battle once again. This epic sequel boasts a vast open-world environment, user-controlled camera and a truly enormous challenge as the world’s most famous vampire seeks an end to his immortal existence. His story comes to an end in a suitably shocking circumstance.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will be released for PlayStation®3, Xbox 360® and Windows PC in the US on February 25, 2014.
