Midway announced today that their new MMO, The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar is now live.  You have to wonder why it took so long to get a Lord of the Rings game to market, it's not like every fantasy based MMO doesn't trace at least part of it's inspiration back to Tolkein's books at some level.  The early response to the game seems to be fairly positive as both Randy and Shawn had mostly positive things to say about the game beta.  It will be interesting to see if the game can gain any marketshare competing against World of Warcraft or not.
