Ritual QA Manager, Michael Russell has a nice blog post that explains some of the benefits for PC developers of Microsoft's new Gaming For Windows program such as covering some of the some of the costs of getting the game in stores.  He also outlines some of the standards the developers have to follow to get the "Gaming For Windows" stamp of approval.

Edit - Michael is the QA manager not a QA programmer.
