Video Games and advertising have been getting more and more cozy over the last few years, but mainly with in-game ads. For the first time in recent history that I can remember, a video game character has gotten his own ad, as Naughty Dog, Sony and Subway have teamed up to allow Nathan Drake of Uncharted
fame to promote the Taste for Adventure contest
along with his favorite sub and soda from Subway.
I have been harsh on the in-game ads in the past, but this type of cross promotion is something I actually enjoy. It is a nice shout out to the Naughty Dog folks that they have put together an IP that has such a strong brand and identity that the lead character can get his own commercial.
