Is Corvo following in Batman's vaunted bat-steps?*

Today Arkane studios announced that their critically acclaimed (proof) rated-M-for-murder assassination game, Dishonored will see its first batch of DLC coming in December.

Called Dishonored: Dunwall City Trials, it will include 10 challenge maps that will allow Corvo to exercise his murder skills.  You'll take part in combat challenges against waves of enemies, drop assassination courses, and races against the clock - just to mention a few.  The Dunwall City Trials pack will cost $4.99 or 400 Microsoft Points and will be released for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 simultaneously.

*Because both Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City games had similar challenges courses and levels.

Furthermore. two more DLC packs will be released next year; the first will focus on Daud, who is the leader of another faction of supernatural assassins known as "The Whalers."  You'll gain access to Daud's own arsenal of weapons and powers, and visit new locales in the as-yet-untitled DLC pack.  There's no pricing information yet either; you'll have to wait until it's closer to its Spring 2013 release for that.

The third DLC packs will be story driven rather than challenge driven also, but we know even less about that one.  Stay tuned.
