GamesIndustry.biz has a pretty interesting interview
with Valve's VP of Marketing, Doug Lombardi. I've met and talked to Doug a few times and he's a really good guy. Some interesting tidbits include Yahoo and Microsoft declining to build Steam for them, why they like being independent, working with EA, and Steam helping independents. I really do like how Steam has evolved over the years and what is has to offer today for the PC gamer. You see EA moving into the digital distribution sector with their EA Downloader and Microsoft trying to integrate online friends with their Games for Windows Live product but Steam does both really well now.
