First it was Devil May Cry 4, and now Capcom is sending out the
Lost Planet disk for the PS3 with another forced up to 20 minute, 5GB install.
According to PS3Style.com, their pre-release copy of
Lost Planet required the exact same install as DMC4, sans the pretty back story on the loading screen. I'm no math major, but forced 5GB install are going to eat up ANY capacity HDD space very quickly. If this is a work around to compensate for the crappy load times of the Blu-Ray player, then it better get fixed ASAP or PS3 owners will be screaming bloody murder that their HDD are getting filled. Remember, there is only a 40GB sku being sold now, so that allows for a maximum of around 6 games (plus op system and saves) loading several gigs of crap before space is gone. That doesn't include any movies, music or PSN downloads. Scary scenario that bears watching closely.
